Saginet HS Distance Learning Rooms

Most of the high schools in the Saginet consortium have installed state of the art distance learning rooms. Schools now have the ability to share classes, participate in instructional events or virtual field trips and much more.

Each room has a Polycom VSX 7000 that allows for videoconferencing capabilities.Additionally, there is an elmo, computer, copier/fax machine, IP phone system, dvd/vcr player and an auxiliary input device with each system.

A graphics user interface (GUI) touch screen system has been installed for ease of use in controlling the whole system.

The rooms have two 42 inch LCD monitors on one wall, and either another 42 inch LCD monitor or a projection system on the back wall.

All stations have a Media Director cabinet that neatly houses all of the electronics.

The rooms use two Polycom cameras and two ceiling mounted microphones for maximum audio and video capabilities.

A distance learning manual is a good resource for teachers looking for standard practices, tips and other important information that deals with 2-way interactive distance learning classes.
